Ok so what would be an easy, small project for someone in a woodworking class. I’ve made a couple of small projects like cutting boards and footstools. Some other students in that class have made stuff like boxes and things to hang jackets (I don’t know what that’s called). Well anyways I want to do some thing different and interesting. We are only allowed to use saws and well other stuff like hammers and straight edges (Hand tools). So i can’t cut out holes or designs in the boards. I want something easy and has to be 18" or less. Could someone help me with some ideas.
Thank you!

Try asking your parents or other family what you can make that they can use like shelves, magazine racks, mail holder, etc. Something useful is always best. Game boards such as checkers, chess, or even chinese checkers are also good beginner items.
You can also try a internet search for "easy woodworking projects". You’ll find a lot of ideas to get you started.

FYI: I’m a 16 year old girl

Does anyone know if it’s possible to be a "partial" psychopath? I think I might be one, but then I might just be exaggerating things. I read that psychopaths/sociopaths have no emotions or conscience and manipulate people. I do have emotions and a conscience, but sort of… inconsistently. Like for example I’m very close to my grandma, but my grandpa and I don’t really talk because he’d rather do woodworking in his basement. I recently learned that he has a kidney tumor, and I just… don’t care. I pretended to be sad about it, but I just don’t feel anything. If it was my grandma or one of my brothers I’d feel awful, but I don’t.

I just don’t seem to care about things if no one is watching. For example: if I have a cold and my mom tells me to use disposable plates, I only do it when she is around and switch to regular ones when she leaves. A few times I’ve wiped the floor with a family member’s clothes or face towels if there is nothing else around.

Also, I keep having these weird sexual fantasies about machinery and violence. It’s hard to explain. Even though I’m not very strong physically I have a pretty violent mind. When I was little I killed my pet bird (though I did feel guilty about it) and tortured insects and fish I caught in a lake. I also cut up all my toys. When I got to be too old for dolls, I started making paper airplanes and hacking at them with scissors.

I heard that psychopaths lie a lot and are manipulative. For me that’s partially true: I lie to people I don’t like or don’t care about, but feel kinda bad about lying to people who like me. I don’t lie to my dad or a teacher who likes me, but I constantly lie to my mom (who is really rude and sometimes abusive and probably bipolar). I don’t consciously manipulate people, but sometimes I find myself acting super sincere with teachers so they cut me some slack. Like if I ask, "Do I need a hall pass to go to the bathroom?" in a certain way, they let me go without being suspicious that I’ll go somewhere else. Even though I’m good with adults like that, I’m kinda awkward with people my own age. I just can’t think of witty comebacks fast enough, and if I talk to other teenagers who aren’t my friends for too long I just get sort of mentally exhausted. I do have friends, but not too many .More like a few close friends instead of a whole social group.

So do I sound like just a weird person, or kind of a "partial" psychopath?

Hey, I’m a sociopath. Ehh. You do sound like one, but not "partially", that’s impossible. Take it from me, I have experience, and I used to be an Abnormal Psych major (ironic, no?). I was diagnosed when I was 12. You may feel some things for some people, hence "some emotions", because you care about them. Sociopaths HAVE EMOTION, just little. I care about maybe 5 people on this planet. The others, I feel nothing for.

Do you have what I would call "flatline" emotions? That means you don’t feel excited, you don’t feel extremely happy, you don’t feel extremely sad, etc. You’re just kind of in a permanent state of…contentedness, I guess. Flat.

That’s a tell-tale sign, if that never changes.

I realize many of my views may seem like neonazi ideals but I’d like to say I have nothing against minorities and I truelly believe that people are individuals not to be entirely summarized by stereotypes (though its funny when people live up to them)
But I loath the retarded. Im not talking about autism or something like that I mean full blown retards like the ones that function as a giant toddler from my experience ( I delivered a note to a room full of them today) and for the most part I dont see how anyone wouldnt terminate a pregnancy if the child was retarded (not an abortion debate i believe if us guys could get prego then the abortion clinics would out number mcdonalds) but when the retard is then born they end up wasting tax dollars on it in the school systems and for their healthcare and I’ve heard they often recieve welfare for their defects.

On top of that im also just downright disgusted 9 out of 10 times when i see a retarded person as their just moist sticky individuals (bad BO, blows snot bubbles all over their own face everytime they exhale, food leaking as if they cant even keep their damn mouths closed) they invade peoples personal space as one of them that is for some reason allowed in regular classes regularly goes through my classmates things and you can tell the same way you can tell which way a slug went! It utterly disgusts me that in spite of the fact we run a major deffecit and our school system is already bad enough that they throw these sub humans in with the rest of the kids who can easily out preform them with nothing more than a laugh in just about any practical competition/situation (not who can coat themselves with mucus) so i ask why do we allow them in regular schools and to leech off our society the way they do given the fact they never have and never will be useful.

Just a reminder Im not talking about kids who autistic or have adhd or just some physical disability as they still tend to be some of the most valued people in our society (Einstien, supposedly had autism and i need not even speak for Mr hawking whose condition is obvious but whose mind is without many equals) whereas most of the special day kids at my school cant even go up a flight of stairs on their own an exaggeration watched one break down emotionally because they couldnt go up the ships ladder in my stage building class which shouldnt even be accessible to the retarded on account of the fact it teaches welding, woodworking, graphical, design and other skill that are beyond their capabilities. So now I rephrase the question why do waste our money on the retarded and the time of the countless teachers and other people who have to manage them when they are litterally the least productive wastes of space i can think of?
oh and this is a yahoo question so if your trying to fault me do it in a way that demonstrates a productive counterpoint to change my opinion not rip on the grammer i didnt pay attention to and the sentance structure i didnt reread.
Btw if i was retarded i would kill myself on the spot, id prolly have someone else do it because id be trapped it a cage of my own mucus

"not rip on the grammer i didnt pay attention to and the sentance structure i didnt reread."

Which shows your level of regard and concern for other people very well.
Would you serve meals to other people on dirty plates, too, just because it was too much bother to you to wash them up?

Your ethics and viewpoints can be critiqued on several grounds, but here’s just one thought: what behaviour, rights, support and opportunities would you want to see in place in a society, if you didn’t know beforehand what your place in it would be?
If the roll of the dice might make you one of the "retarded" just as well as it might make you the child of a rich person?

Wanting the world arranged for your personal convenience from where you happen to stand is not terribly advanced thinking.

Yes, you do seem to have some psycopathic tendencies. Not all psychopaths are evil though like the media likes to portray them, and they are much more common than people realize
